December
10 -18 at The Abingdon Theater
Wilde
Mule Productions in association with The Sketch Group presents Love and
Everything Else at The Abingdon Theater beginning December 10th. Fall
in and out of love and back again in the course of this exciting and unpredictable
evening of rollicking, romantic shenanigans.
Part
1: "The Wedding Night"
Josh Mertz and Hilary J. Prentice, both feature players in the current
Wilde Mule production of Dangerous Liaisons, star as Michael and Jenna,
a young couple who are forced to re-examine their own engagement in the
confines of a hotel room during the wedding weekend of one of Michael’s
college friends. The prospect of eternal adulthood scares them both to
death – almost as much as eternal adulthood with each other. "We’ve all
experienced that moment of truth in one relationship or another," says
playwright Dan Maccarone, who bri ngs humor and pathos to the proceedings
as a casual argument turns into a life-altering situation. "It probably
one of the most terrifying experiences one can have in life: do I or don’t
I take the next step. The Wedding Night puts that situation center stage,
exploring what happens if you wait too long to make any choices at all."
Directed by Bryan Enk.
Part
2: "Love and Everything Else"
The Sketch Group founders Phyllis Dealy, Jennifer Macaluso, Dan Maccarone,
Emily Marks and Brad Schenker shed new light on an old problem: The difficulty
of meeting that special someone, falling in love and maintaining a relationship.
In three irreverent, funny, and smart sketches, they explore the boundaries
and silliness of love and attraction. The group first performed together
at Gotham City Improv as a part of the Gotham Sketch training program
and has now made its way to 42nd Street.
Love
and Everything Else runs December 10 -18, Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 8:00pm.
The Abingdon Theater is located at 432 West 42nd Street, 4th Floor (between
9th & 10th Aves -- accessible from the A,C,E trains at 42nd Street). Tickets
are $12. For reservations call 212-473-1239 or visit http://www.wildemule.org/love/tickets.php.
